Welcoming San Diego brings all San Diegans together by hosting events focused on connecting New Americans to community resources so that they can fully participate in civic life, access public resources, and contribute their skills.

Upskilling the American Workforce

Thursday, June 21, 4 PM at San Diego Workforce Partnership

3910 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92105 (Community Room)

Immigrants play an essential role in San Diego’s labor market, making up 1 in every 4 workers. As our region’s businesses seek skilled and credentialed workers, investing in New Americans would filling those talent needs, especially among middle-skill opportunities.

Join us for a discussion on national trends and local policies and practices that will allow immigrants and refugees to participate in closing the middle-skill gap and advance economic outcomes.

Keynote Presentation by Amanda Bergson-Shilcock, Director of Upskilling Policy, National Skills Coalition

Panel discussion lead by Andy Hall, COO, San Diego Workforce Partnership
